Scavolini was founded in Pesaro in 1961 thanks to the enterprise of brothers Valter and Elvino Scavolini. In just a few years, the small artisan company specialising in kitchen production evolved into one of the most important Italian industrial companies and one of the top-ranking brands in terms of modular kitchen exports. Scavolini has always worked with prestigious designers on the international scene. Nendo, Ora-ïto, Diesel Creative Team, Giugiaro Design, King&Miranda Design, Karim Rashid, Michael Young, Rainlight Studio and Fabio Novembre provide exclusive creations to fuel the firm’s continuous mediation between the most ground breaking, brilliant creativity and what the people of today and tomorrow really want for their lifestyles. This feature has always taken a prime position in Scavolini, and comes from an ability to meet market demands quickly, linked with a desire to guarantee customer satisfaction for a varied cross section of the public. Scavolini notes the very first hints of change, and develops on these ideas with a view to continual research and innovation. These design-focused activities are conducted by the brand according to an approach that is sociological, disciplinary and experimental, best to explore unprecedented languages. The sociological approach is based on an analysis of the aesthetic and practical expectations of the various different socio-cultural groups. The sectorial approach is devoted to a ‘pure’ design that sets out the capacity to create beautiful looks and innovation in exclusive projects, and last but not least, the experimental approach is expressed through the research into relations between the kitchen and the daily rituals of its occupants. Scavolini exports its products worldwide. Today, Scavolini boasts over 300 foreign points of sale in addition to its 900 points of sale across Italy. Scavolini Usa inc., with its head office in New York in the iconic Soho neighbourhood, was set up in 2007. The flagship Store Scavolini Soho Gallery has been opened in the exclusive context of West Broadway. In 2017 Scavolini doubled its presence with offices and a showroom on 58th Street, in the A&D Building, which is already home to some of the biggest brands in the world of design and contract work. In addition to the head office in America, the representative office in Shanghai opened in 2014 and the UK branch opened in London in 2015. In 2018 the brand further consolidated its internationalisation strategy with the opening of its subsidiary, Scavolini France sas. A successful strategy based on constantly strengthening the distribution and organisational network, but also on product development tailored to the tastes and needs of the various countries, in addition to a communication strategy focusing on enhancing “brand recognition”.
